Slipknot bassist hospitalised during gig
During their Hartford, Conn., concert on Sunday, Slipknot was forced to finish their show sans bassist Alessandro “V-Man” Venturella when a sudden emergency forced him to leave mid-show. I’m not sure what happened. He’s going to the hospital as we speak.
“Now, we had the choice to come back out here”.
But Corey also told fans that despite Alex’s departure, the rest of the group had decided – after some modifications were made – to come out and continue on with the performance.
According to reports this morning, Venturella suffered from “an unknown medical emergency” and was quickly rushed to the hospital. Send him some f***ing love. We’ve had to modify some sh*t, but we’re going to keep on playing for you.
However, the band still continued to play, with Taylor saying: “It’s what we want, it’s what Alex would f***ing want.”
Slipknot did not disappoint fans.
Slipknot is now on the Summer’s Last Stand Tour with Lamb of God, Bullet for My Valentine and Motionless in White, which is slated to run through September 5. During the tour, Slipknot has been playing 17 songs a night and on Sunday in Hartford, they still performed 15 even though they were a man down.
Venturella, a former guitarist for British band Krokodil and guitar tech for Mastodon, joined the band in 2014 along with former Against Me! drummer Jay Weinberg following the death of bassist Paul Gray and departure of drummer Joey Jordison.
