Kylie Jenner likely to become youngest ‘self-made’ billionaire ever
Thanks mostly in part to Kylie Cosmetics, Jenner has built an empire estimated to be around $900 million. Forbes estimated that Kim Kardashian, who has her own cosmetics, clothing and mobile games lines, is worth $350 million.
Jenner, who is now not old enough even to legally drink alcohol in the U.S., will turn 21 in August before her Forbes cover edition hits newsstands.
While the cover spot itself wasn’t an issue (another Kar-Jenner on front of a glossy is nothing novel, these days-not even for Forbes), many readers pointed out that the title “self-made” doesn’t acknowledge the major head start she had in her business. Jenner owns 100 per cent of it.
According to the publication, Kylie – who is set to turn 21 on August 10 – is now worth an estimated $900million thanks to her cosmetics line.
Cape Town – Think about what you’ve been doing for the past three years, while you’ve been doing that, Kylie Jenner has been making millions of dollars.
“What her half-sister Kim Kardashian West did for booty, Jenner has done for full lips”, Forbes writes, describing her famous pouty lips. Coupled with strategic social media endorsements and TV gigs, Kylie’s net worth is valued at $900 million. Aged 17, she trademarked the phrase “Kylie Lip Kits. for the ideal pout”.
“I struggled for a minute with finding something to do on my own”, Jenner told Forbes.
Of course, we live in the age of social media and that has really helped Kylie reach her fans and customers. Within the next year, she’s set to become the youngest self-made billionaire ever, besting Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Snapchat king Evan Spiegel. And with no office (she works out of her mother’s home) and only seven full-time employees and five part-timers, it has very little overhead.
She’s also on track to become the youngest self-made billionaire. Actually, she is the youngest in a long list of the richest self-made women in the world. On Sunday, she revealed on Instagram that she had ditched them.
Forbes said she used $250,000 earned from modeling to pay a company to produce the first 15,000 lip kits, which she spent months teasing on Instagram.
