Moto Z3 with 5G Moto Mod launched: Price, full specifications, features
Incidentally, Qualcomm had recently displayed the world’s first truly miniaturized 5G antenna that can be embedded in multiple quantities within electronic devices.
Motorola and Verizon on Thursday introduced the Moto Z3, the latest edition of Motorola’s high-end smartphone best known for its assortment of “mod” accessories.
Yesterday, Motorola launched the Motorola Moto Z3 at an event in Chicago. To sweeten the deal, Verizon’s offering up to $300 off when you switch and trade in your current phone.
In the United States, the Moto Z3 comes only in Ceramic Black color and will be costing around $480 (approx Rs 33,000). The model we saw has 64GB of storage, dual 12-megapixel main cameras, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Instead, the fingerprint sensor is located on the right side of the device just beneath the volume rockers. Speaking of the battery, it checks in at 3,000 mAh, which should give you a full day of runtime.
The phone’s only questionable spec is its Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip.
And to make sure that the 3000mAh battery on the phone doesn’t expire too quickly while employing a 5G connection, the 5G Moto Mod includes a 2000mAh battery of its own. At the very least, the phone has 4GB of RAM. To enjoy the 5G network on the Moto Z3, users will need to separately buy the 5G Moto Mod after the network is official. Verizon, Motorola’s partner with the Moto Z3 and this Mod, is launching 5G service in four markets later this year, but that’s residential broadband and not mobile.
What do you think of the Moto Z3 and its newest Moto Mod? The Mod will definitely only work on Verizon’s 5G network, not any other carrier’s, though. That promise has been fulfilled with the Moto Z3 family. We’re now in Chicago awaiting to see a hardware demo.
Verizon will once again be the exclusive seller of the Moto flagship device. But there are still questions we don’t know the answers to.
As far as the design of the phone is concerned, the new Moto Z3, which is the successor to the Z2 – looks a lot like the Z3 Play.
The Z3 will cost $480, with an option to pay $20 for 24 months, Verizon said. Motorola says the accessory will work with other Moto-capable phones, but performance won’t be as good.
Not as much as a whisper has landed on our ears when it came to this phone.
Verizon is now rolling out 5G residential broadband service in four United States markets: Houston, Los Angeles, Sacramento and one additional city to be announced soon.
