Gameplay Footage For DOOM Eternal Shown At QuakeCon 2018
At E3 Bethesda confirmed there would be more ripping and tearing of demons as Doom Eternal was announced.
There was also a glimpse of some interesting looking concept art that didn’t look like anything seen in the games so far, in that it wasn’t obviously Hell or Earth (or Mars). These include the Ballista, which fires an exploding bolt into enemies, and the Super Shotgun, which comes with a blade called the “Meat Hook” attached to the barrels.
All in all, Doom has never looked more like Doom based on today’s footage. It’s a gameplay driven game and Doom Eternal looks to be the same.
The QuakeCon 2018 goes ahead, and we will inform you promptly of all the news. At the very least, though, we feel that this has to be some kind of expansion or some piece of previously unseen content related to Doom.
“It’s time to save the future with two incredible sci-fi shooters making their way to Xbox Game Pass today”, Microsoft’s Will Tuttle writes of Doom and Rage. They then revealed DOOM Eternal with over 15 minutes of gameplay spread across three brutal segments. Sure you can be fast as Spider-Man, but it’s a helpful tool to get away from danger or let’s you jump behind enemies.
The QuakeCon footage also served up looks at an assortment of older, more familiar Doom weapons, such as the rocket launcher and grenade launcher. Invade others either by yourself or with another player, as part of a hunting party, to give the Slayer a true taste of Hell.
Doom Eternal has no release window as of right now but will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC, AND Nintendo Switch… yes, you read that right.
There’s no release date yet for the game but most likely it will come sometime in 2019 so be prepared. It seems the Switch port of DOOM performed well enough to justify Bethesda’s continued support.
