The president’s daughter and son-in-law entered the cathedral on Saturday morning shortly before McCain’s funeral service began.

During both the Washington ceremony and the Annapolis burial, Trump was at his private golf course in Virginia.

“Depending on the issue, you knew John would either be your staunchest ally or your most stubborn opponent”, McConnell recalled.
