Bill Cosby’s new life as inmate NN7687 in ‘state-of-the-art facility’

Cosby’s official inmate number is NN7687.

The prison, costing $400 million, opened two months ago and holds around 3,830 inmates.

Bill Cosby is spending his second night in prison and the exact location of his cell has been revealed Wednesday night.

Corrections Secretary John Wetzel said the prison’s long-term goal is to place Cosby in the general population.

Cosby’s publicists have instead argued the judge denied Cosby a fair trial.

“That one is front and center because he didn’t rule that way on the initial trial”, Loyola Law School professor Laurie Levenson said.

As for Constand, she reportedly smiled while walking out of the courtroom after Cosby’s prison sentence was announced, according to Page Six. Prosecutors in the Cosby case originally wanted 19 women to testify, but an appeals court could have seen that as too many. “More than 60 other women have self-identified as sexual-assault victims of Bill Cosby”, she had said in a statement given to Judge O’Neill. She said her husband was a victim of “mob justice” on the part of the media and Montgomery County authorities. “Her courage and her strength was enough for me to say, ‘Let’s keep going'”.

“We prosecute where the evidence takes us and that was done in this (Cosby) case”.

Prison officials said they hope Cosby will eventually join the general population of inmates at Phoenix, which has almost 4,000 beds. He says Cosby remains a potential danger to socity even though he is 81 and infirm.

In 2016, Cosby’s legal team tried using a defense revolving around the comedian’s race and institutionalized racism but subsequently dropped that plan.

O.J. Simpson, who got out of prison earlier this year after serving nine years, didn’t comment on his length of sentencing but rather his treatment behind bars.

Ahead of his sentencing, Judge Steven O’Neill ruled Cosby to be a “sexually violent predator”, meaning his name will appear on a sex-offender registry and will have to meet with counselors and report to authorities for the rest of his life.

Worden said Cosby’s situation wouldn’t be different from other inmates. She told jurors in April he gave her a pill he claimed would ease her menstrual cramps but instead left her immobilized and unable to stop an assault she called “gross”. “The time has come”, O’Neill said.

Prosecutors say it could be longer because he did not show remorse.
