Maurizio Sarri urges Eden Hazard to become world’s best
Eden Hazard, who came off the bench at the hour-mark, started causing all kinds of trouble to Liverpool’s defence from his first minute on the pitch.
Hazard tore through the Reds’ defence to score an 85th-minute victor in Chelsea’s 2-1 EFL Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool on Wednesday but Klopp claimed the Belgium global is not unstoppable.
Eden Hazard’s majestic solo strike capped a thrilling Chelsea fightback in their 2-1 win at Liverpool, while Tottenham survived a penalty shoot-out to beat Watford in the League Cup third round on Wednesday.
The Italian’s view is largely shared by many footballing fans for on days like these, the diminutive Hazard is simply unplayable. And then, I don’t think I have the Liverpool glasses on my nose – I would say it’s offside.
He also pointed out Liverpool cause teams problems when they play their own football.
Chelsea boss Sarri admitted he “wants everything” from Hazard, urging the Belgium playmaker to wring every last drop of potential out of himself.
It was an impressive comeback from Maurizio Sarri’s men, giving them valuable momentum ahead of Saturday’s more significant Premier League clash between the teams at Stamford Bridge.
Do you think Hazard would improve, if he became more selfish in front of goal?
The Egyptian hasn’t been in such sparkling form at the beginning of this season, but looked back close to his best by scoring in a 3-0 cruise past Southampton last weekend.
“He’s a genius, technically I think he’s the best”.
Sarri added, when asked how Hazard can improve: “For example, with more intensity in training”.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has had a torrid time since returning from a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace and the English global will at best feature on the bench after complaints of a shin injury against PAOK in the Europa League. And so I want him to be the best in the world.
“He is one of the best coaches in the world at the moment”, Sarri said of Klopp.
“We have a few little problems with Virgil, with Gini and with Trent since this morning, no real things but they couldn’t have played tonight so that’s one reason [for the changes]”.
Shaqiri also hit back at criticism from former Stoke City team-mate Charlie Adam, who intimated his fellow midfielder had not put enough effort in as the Potters were relegated from the Premier League last season. “I believe that. I want to let my feet do the talking for my club and, if that happens, I believe I will be back on the global scene sooner rather than later”.
