Windows 10 has almost overtaken OSX among Steam users
The latest Steam hardware survey reveals that Windows 10 is used by more Steam users than Mac and Linux OSs combined.
It looks like the changes and new features implemented in Windows 10, along with the fact that it is a free upgrade for owners of genuine Windows, has certainly helped Microsoft. Its last such survey was published just a couple of days ago providing us with stats about the previous month.
Looking at the most recent survey numbers, Windows is by far the dominant platform of choice for Steam users.
If we combine both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 10, the operating system sits at 2.30% of all Steam users who participated in the Jul. 2015 survey. It has also surpassed the number of Linux gamers where Linux and its variants command a total of 0.89% of Steam’s platform. How does Windows 10 fare when it comes to the gaming scene?
Considering all these things, Windows 10 with 2.30% seems like a decent figure and may take more from Windows 7 market share once Microsoft has dealt with minor errors and bugs. The next most popular OS is Windows 8.1 with 32.49 per cent of users.
