Person of Interest in Custody in Connection to Memphis Officer Slaying
A manhunt was underway for a suspect who fatally shot a Memphis police officer during a traffic stop on Saturday evening, as stated by officials.
A US police officer has been shot during a traffic stop in Memphis, Tennessee, and later died at a hospital, authorities say.
Police are in search of potential witnesses and are asking for members of the general public who’ve details about the suspect to return ahead.
The officer was immediately transported in critical condition to Regional Medical Center, where he died.
“It doesn’t get any easier”, Armstrong told reporters Saturday night.
The Memphis Police Department has not confirmed any arrests or other developments in the case, and did not immediately return CNN’s calls for comment.
