Pak Rangers target 12 BOPs with mortar bombs
Jammu: Pakistan troops overnight violated the ceasefire agreement on the line of control (LoC) and global border in four sectors of the Jammu region.
Reports said Pakistan troops started firing at Indian forward posts in Krishnagati and Mandi sectors in Poonch district and Balakote and Palanwala sectors in Rajouri district from 9:30 pm.
This is second ceasefire violation along the IB in 12 hours, he said.
“BSF fired to thwart any possible infiltration attempt after which it was quiet till morning”.
Pakistani rangers had last night resorted to firing mortar bombs on border outposts along the global Border in Jammu district. Since July last, there have been over 20 incidents of ceasefire violation in which four people including three jawans were killed and 14 others injured.
Pakistani Rangers also violated the ceasefire by resorting to small arms firing and mortar shelling on 3 BoPs along the IB in Akhnoor sector in Jammu district on Sunday.
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to unprovoked intensified firing on border villages in Bajwat sector of Working Boundary on Saturday, according to local media sources.
An Army jawan was killed in Poonch and two BSF jawans were killed in similar incidents along the LoC in Kashmir Valley.
