Donors Sought for Guns-N-Hoses Blood Drive
The American Red Cross is facing a looming shortage of the blood types most needed by patients and is calling on eligible donors with O negative, B negative and A negative blood to give now to prevent an emergency situation. “Patients don’t get a summer holiday or vacation from needing blood though”.
He once gave platelets for a burns patient in Queensland after his blood was found to be an exact match.
Not only are they looking for blood donors, but they are also in need of platelet donors with AB blood.

The American Red Cross will have a blood-donation opportunity from 1-6 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 169 Church St.in Pembroke.

This July, more than 10 different faith-based groups have been participating in the fifth annual Interfaith Community Blood Drive with 60 blood drive held at places of worship throughout the Bay Area, stretching from Antioch down to Salinas. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
