Destiny Recasts Peter Dinklage’s Ghost With Nolan North
Bungie revealed to Game Informer that his entire voice acting performance from the start of the game to the new content will be replaced by Nolan North.
Known around the gaming world as that guy who is the voice of basically everyone, Nolan North will become the voice of your floating companion, Ghost, that adorable floating contraption that scans environments, unlocks doors, hacks into mainframes and occasionally makes quips about the events unfolding around you. If I get a chance to continue with the role, I think we can evolve Ghost as we move forward over the years. Not only will be taking over for TTK, he will re-record all of the Ghost’s original dialogue for the sake of consistency.

They really wanted me to put my stamp on it. They let me bring what I wanted to the role.
When discussing his understanding of the robotic character, North told GI that he found it interesting that a ghost can actually be killed. The entire “moon wizard” incident speaks to some of the drama that’s surrounded Dinklage’s involvement in Destiny.
Finally, with regards to the new level cap, Smith (The Taken King’s creative director) has confirmed that the studio are planning on reworking progression between levels 1 and 40, with experience earned in-game by completing quests and whatnot now feeding directly into level progression throughout. You won’t be able to ascend your weapons anymore, which means that crowd favorites like the Vex Mythoclast and the Fang of Ir Yut will be inevitably replaced by new, more powerful guns in the expansion.
The voice changes will be in place when The Taken King is available on September 15th, just a little over a year after Destiny first launched. “We don’t want to do that”.
