Jon Stewart announces his final 3 guests, including Louis C.K
In the lead-up to that final episode, Comedy Central will be airing a day-long marathon of old episodes next Thursday.
The Daily Show seemed purpose-built for the Bush years, poking holes in the White House’s paper-thin foreign policy arguments, and deflating the conservative wind-baggery of Fox News.
It would be very surprising if Colbert didn’t show up being that he got his start on the “Daily Show” in 1997.
I would say that that is-him being invited to the last show is factually inaccurate.
Or perhaps it had gotten too onerous.
Jon Stewart has only four more nights left as host of “The Daily Show“.
In particular, he believes the Millennial generation tapped into a sense of skepticism and a self-deprecating wit in Stewart that they found lacking in the network and cable news outlets.
“I learned the difference between impersonating a comedian and being a comedian”, Stewart said.
Stewart then lays out how the meetings went down. “If the president tells you to and you don’t, who the f*** knows what would happen?” Now you look at news, and it’s changing.
The departing “Daily Show” host wrapped up the segment by hammering home the lack of secrecy surrounding the White House meetings.
“The biggest pressure is living up to the expectations that Jon has for me,”Noah said”. “And WE are absurdly fake”.
Nonetheless, he was sharply attuned to America’s many improper turns, how its management and media routinely let the nation down.
“Reince, get out now”, Stewart said. “In society we change, and that’s progress in my book”, he said.
There was little signal of sanity restored. And, according to Vulture, we also know that Stewart had an unenviable slot last night: immediately after Louis CK, who also decided to work on some fresh material.
Noah is set to officially launch the revamped Comedy Central series on September 28, just shy of two months after Stewart bows out on August 6, reported Digital Spy. All three of them will bring some laughs, and probably all have a big appreciation for what he has done there.
Are things crazier than ever? Are we more painfully aware?
