Man’s iPhone Miraculously Still Works After Falling From a Plane Over Texas
It is pertinent to mention here that This is not the first case of an iPhone surviving a great fall.
Sure that his iPhone had expired, Wilson nonetheless decided to try out the Find My iPhone function – only to discover that it still showed up around 80 kilometers from where Wilson lived. “So we got in the vehicle and followed the highway to South of Jacksboro near Joplin, and it brought me right to it”. Along with his employee, Wilson drove back all the way to retrieve his iPhone.
Wichita Falls: A Texas businessman used an app to find his iPhone in a rural pasture after it fell from 9,300 feet during a flight from Houston.
Following the path given to them by the app, the pair ended up in a rural area. Wilson said he was able to find his phone using an application that draws a map pointing to the missing device.
“I climbed the fence and this donkey trotted up to me and looked me right in the eyes”, Wilson recounted the experience to NBC News. Surviving a drop of more than 9,000 feet seems impossible.
Aside from a couple of scratches on the corners, the handset was still “in ideal working order”. The screen was intact, the phone still made calls and all other features worked as usual.
Eventually, Mr Wilson and his friend located the iPhone under a tree in a pasture – completely unscathed save for a missing external battery that had been held in his iPhone’s case.
