The ‘Fantastic Four’ try to get their franchise footing
The recent “Fantastic Four” video has at least, given another glimpse of the upcoming movie which review embargo gave the public some notion that it is not a fantastic film, said Cleveland.com.
This Friday, 20th Century Fox is releasing its long-awaited reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise, bringing new actors, a new plot and much grittier tone to the Marvel universe’s most famous family. I think there was something about Josh’s identity that made him a good target. He had his main title, a zombie-infested series that kicked off in July 2009, a third Team-Up series that launched the following November and lead into the Deadpool Corps series, which featured not just “our” Wade Wilson, but also a host of alternate universe Deadpools… together. He’d become such a fixture for fans who loved his off-color humor and fourth wall-breaking antics he was all over everything. The latest sneak peek of the film features an unexpected guest star crashing the party right at the very end. Hollywood is starting to come around on that front, though: Will Ferrell collaborator Adam McKay co-wrote Ant-Man, and now Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is absolutely blowing up the Internet with hilarity by turning the film trailer game on its head. We see a lot of the early stuff we’ve already glimpsed in other trailers, along with some footage that (seemingly) comes from the middle and later acts of the film.
Oh, and Deadpool shows up at the end of this trailer to inform everyone that the trailer for his new movie will be attached to Fantastic Four in theaters (and he throws in an erection joke for good measure), because somehow the Deadpool movie has more buzz than the Fantastic Four.
