Zayn Malik promises to make ‘real music’ on new label
“With the subtlety of a hand grenade, Malik explained that he originally left 1D “to show you who i really am!”, accompanied by the hashtag “#realmusic”. “#REALME“, Malik tweeted later to his 15.1 million followers.
Alicia Keys, Mark Ronson, Justin Timberlake and A$AP Rocky are among the acts signed to the label, which is part of Sony Music.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed Malik had been dropped from Simon Cowell’s Syco record label, which he was under throughout his time in One Direction. Malik wrote on Twitter Wednesday that he “never explained why” he left.
It has also been reported by Billboard that Malik has penned a deal with Turn First Artists, the management company who represent Iggy Azalea, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and more. ‘Remember when you were 12 and you used to think those Mac filters for your pictures were cool haha!
