Emma Watson Admits Feeling Like An Imposter And Reveals How She Overcomes
EMMA WATSON is the cover star for Vogue’s September issue.
Giving her the boost she needed to get up on stage, Watson said she overcomes moments of doubt by asking herself similar questions: “If not me, who?”
Reflecting on being thrust into the limelight from such a young age, Emma revealed that she now feels uncomfortable with the attention that her iconic role has brought her. “I feel like an imposter”.
Watson, who appears on the cover of next month’s Vogue, said: “When I was younger, I just did it. I just acted”. The British actress has been offered roles in various movies since then and just recently, she became the United Nation’s Ambassador of Goodwill where her speech about gender equality in front of officials was praised recently.
“I was in my hotel room, thinking, I can’t do this”, she said.
Despite her admission, Emma has continued to forge ahead with her dramatic career and has landed roles in some forthcoming Hollywood blockbusters. On the cover, underneath her name, it says, “Voice of a generation, ‘ and we couldn’t think of a more flawless headline”.
During her speech at the United Nations for the HeForShe campaign, Watson stated that “there is no one country in the world” where all women have the same rights as men. “I was just terrified”, Watson reminisced.
The actress also admitted part of her relaxed after she took the position of Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women because it gave her a sense of belonging and objective.
In hindsight, she says, “It was just something I did”. Among Watson’s films include “The Perks of Being a Wallflower“, “This is the End” and “Noah” and the upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” live-action. “I feel like an imposter”, she added.
The September issue will be available on newsstands on August 6.
