Rhonda Rousey Wins Fight in 34 Seconds; Lolo Jones Jokes ‘Run Away’
That would be Ronda Rousey, who knocked out Bethe Correia 34 seconds into their UFC 135-pound title fight Saturday.
It was her twelfth consecutive win and she has won her last three matches with a combined time of 64 seconds.
Rousey and her sister Maria Burns Ortiz wrote My Fight/Your Fight, which was published by ReganArts in May.
Dana White talked to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani on FOX Sports 1 after UFC 190 and had some bold projections for a potential Ronda Rousey vs Cris “Cyborg” Justino bout.
“The day [Cyborg] makes the weight and does what she’s supposed to do, that fight’s on”.
Yet somehow the powerful athlete is still being asked to defend herself against body shamers who say she is too “muscly” and “masculine”.
This is in reference to Ronda Rousey’s 34-second UFC women’s bantamweight title defence against the woman known as Bethe “Pitbull” Correia. Ronda just gets better every time she fights.
But now that Correia is done and over, Rousey is looking to settle another fight with an old foe, and that is Miesha Tate. She then scored a left hook that stunned Correia, and ended the show with a right to the temple followed by another short left.
“I don’t regret anything“. Now you don’t want to stand with her, because she’ll knock you to the ground.
Her performances have got people talking, and that comes with its own attention, something which she’s clearly taking in her stride at the moment. If the latter promises she’ll make the cut to 135? “She went for the clinch, and it was up to me to go for the takedown or keep [striking]”.
Before the fight, Correia had said she didn’t know about what happened to Rousey’s father and never intended to attack her personally.
“Listen, just because my body was developed for a objective other than f******* millionaires doesn’t mean it’s masculine”, she said.
