Registration begins for Philly Papal rail pass lottery
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) instituted a lottery site in which consumers can register to purchase the passes required for travel on regional rail during the papal visit. The final number, 38,013, was released early Tuesday morning, after the 24-hour online registration period closed.

The passes will be mailed by sEPTA to customers. Winners will be notified by e-mail. It was not immediately clear what the agency would do with any extra tickets after sales are complete.
To enter, you have to go to SEPTA’s website and fill out a form.
According to The Huffington Post, there are 175,000 rail passes for each day that the Pope is in Philly for a total of 350,000 rail passes altogether for this lottery. If they miss the deadline, another victor will be selected.
According to The Huffington Post, “the pope will attend the World Meeting of Families gathering in Philadelphia”.
If you are picked, you can buy up to 10 passes for $10 each.
“No matter what time you enter your lottery submission, everyone has the same chance of being selected”, spokeswoman Jerri Williams said.
