Amplitude Delayed Again, But Lots More Content Planned
Harmonix made today’s announcement on Amplitude’s Kickstarter page.
The “Amplitude” reboot will be the second current-gen game Harmonix will be releasing.
In a Kickstarter update, Alex Rigopulos and Ryan Lesser detailed what will be added to Amplitude before it releases next year. Now, we’re speedily moving through the summer and now we can expect the game some time in January of next year.
While the game has been delayed until later this year, it was revealed those who backed the game on Kickstarter will gain early access to the title this coming December before the big holiday break. Harmonix also added leaderboards, more playable environments, two multiplayer modes, and unique levels for each song in the game.
Rigopulos concluded: “We know that this schedule slip will be a disappointment to many of you”.
Unfortunately, most of us will just have to wait until January to get our hands on the game.
Upon the release of “Amplitude“, players will be able to try out different modes such as solo campaign and free play, a two- to four-player “free for all” mode, and even a team play competition. He also teased that “a new, still-to-be-announced way to play the game that will change the way you think about Amplitude’s 6-lane track”. “Frankly, it’s disappointing to us as well, as we’re all dying to play the finished game”. We want to over-deliver for our biggest supporters, and that’s simply going to require some extra time.
Rigopulos added that the PlayStation 3 version of Amplitude will ship “shortly behind” the PS4 version.
30 songs instead of the original 16, with Song Senate backers getting an extra track.
