Emmerdale: What will be the fallout from the helcopter crash?
The storyline has sparked some upset among the families of the Clutha Disaster victims, and a petition has been set up online, appealing to producer Kate Oates not to air the episodes on ITV this week.
“It is disrespectful, particularly because the households are nonetheless ready for solutions”.
The guests at Pete and Debbie’s wedding are not the only Emmerdale residents whose lives hang in the balance after the dramatic helicopter crash this week.
One petitioner wrote: “The people of Glasgow are still affected by this tragedy”.
A Change.org petition has now been…
Kerry McGhee, whose father Samuel was among those killed, is among the signatories.
Morag Lennox, from Glasgow, who also signed the petition, said: ‘We the people of Glasgow are still coming to terms with the loss at the Clutha.’.
In reaction, Oates said at a press day ahead of the episodes: “I think editorially, whenever you’re looking at any potential disaster scenario you have to consider it very carefully”.
With the upcoming events being kept under wraps and very few details being revealed, Michael, who plays bad boy Ross Barton, was grilled by This Morning on what is to come.
In a statement, an ITV spokesman added: “The helicopter crash circumstances are very different to any real life cases that we are aware of”.
More details have been revealed about Emmerdale’s disaster week – and it’s the biggest stunt the soap has ever seen.
The fire is set to send one of the canisters rocketing in to the sky where it collides with a helicopter that Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) has hired to take him and his new bride, Debbie (Charley Webb) on honeymoon.
“The accident occurs as a effect of Chrissie setting fire to her cheating husband’s vehicle which spreads to the scrapyard”.
Just before 10.30pm, the Police Scotland helicopter which had been flying overhead crashed into the building as both engines failed. Some 32 people were taken initially to hospitals across the city.
