Mario Gotze future at Bayern Munich up in the air
Bayern Munich ran out 3-0 winners over Milan in a heated Audi Cup clash that left Pep Guardiola infuriated.
The World Cup victor has been deemed as something of a flop since his move to the Allianz Arena two years ago, and the 23-year-old appeared to suggest that his relationship with the former Barcelona boss was one of the reasons for his struggles, and a potential catalyst for a possible exit, the Daily Express report.
Instead of spearheading Bayern’s attacking midfield, however, Gotze has languished on the Bayern bench under coach Pep Guardiola, unable to find consistency. “As for the rest we’ll just have to wait and see, like I said on Tuesday”, he told reporters, quotes sport1.de.
Guardiola was forced to withdraw 20-year-old German midfielder after picking up a knock off a crunching tackle from the Rossoneri player.
“I’m very happy with everything around me and with the things that happen here, but there are always two sides to everything”. “Anything beyond that, we’ll see”.
Gotze has also been the target of criticism from fans and media with Bayern’s honorary president Franz Beckenbauer one of those demanding more quality from the player.
He may find it tougher to break into the team this season after the arrival of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Bayern will play Real Madrid in Munich on Wednesday.
