ESPN College GameDay to Broadcast in Fort Worth for the AdvoCare Classic
College football returns in less than five weeks, and now fans know where the game’s most popular pregame show is headed to open the 2015 slate-back to the Cowboys Classic for Wisconsin and Alabama.
The announcement came during an event at Atlanta’s College Football Hall of Fame.
College GameDay hasn’t been in Blacksburg since the 2007 opener against East Carolina, the first Virginia Tech football game after the mass shooting on campus.
Alabama and Wisconsin both ranked among the nation’s best defenses last year and figure to do so again this year, so not a bad place for GameDay to be in attendance.
Beginning this season, Fowler will be limited to just being in the booth as Rece Davis will take over duties as being the host of the show.
But wait, there’s one more GameDay surprise.
GameDay will then make a quick turnaround and head to Blacksburg for the Monday night game between Virginia Tech an Ohio State, a rematch of the Buckeyes’ only loss during their national championship run a season ago.
Alabama is No. 3 in the preseason poll after a 12-2 season in which the Tide won the SEC and earned a spot in the first-ever College Football Playoff. Running back Corey Clement said.
College Gameday has been to Alabama itself 10 times, meaning Alabama is behind only Florida State, Florida, Michigan and Ohio State in number of appearances.
The Badgers and Crimson Tide will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on ABC on Saturday, September 5.
