Mirror’s Edge Catalyst pre-gamescom teaser is short and very sweet
Both games are in development at EA studio, DICE.
More than that, the world looks massive and seems to encourage exploration, but perhaps most importantly is the sense of atmosphere and anxiety as Faith sensed something close by, perhaps stalking her, and we immediately felt on edge.
What are your thoughts on the glimpse we’ve had of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst?
DICE has revealed that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be playable at Gamescom, similarly to Need for Speed. This, in itself, is great news now that our gaming appetites are out of control.
Faith runs by glowing yellow collectibles in the demo, but it’s not clear what they unlock or how they’ll tie into the main game. Most interesting is how Faith uses her environment and momentum in order to fight off enemies. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is on the surface looking like the squeal fans of the first game want (I want it) and if I may say the game is looking lovely in its current start. Faith is spotted, and escapes while kicking bad guys through glass walls. In short, players will have nearly complete freedom within the game.
“Playing in first-person is integral to Mirror’s Edge“, Design Director, Erik Odeldahl revealed.
Not too long to wait for this one, as Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 23, 2016.
