Gunman Killed after Shots Fired at Nashville-Area Theater
Murfreesboro police had considered him a missing person since Monday. From the time of the call and police response to the scene it took two minutes.
The one individual shot was Montano, whose motive was nonetheless unclear, Aaron stated. His identity was not immediately released.
Montano was charged with assault a Murfreesboro Police officer and resisting arrest in September 2004, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
Montano had armed himself with a hatchet and a pellet gun and was carrying two backpacks.
Police found a second backpack near the back of the theater and were investigating its contents. Police are working on finding out the contents of that bag.
The man, who was identified as Steven, told reporters that police did a “phenomenal job” in responding to the calls for help.
Two women, aged 17 and 53, were hit in the face with the spray, but no one else was being transferred to area hospitals. Steven, a man who was wounded in the arm, said that police did a “phenomenal job”. “We’re here today to say enough is enough, to mass shootings in our schools, our college campuses, our military bases, and even in our movie theatres”.
The stakes are high, Obama said, contending that it isn’t just Iran’s ability to build a bomb that is on the line but also “America’s credibility as the anchor of the global system”. We can’t say we’re not going to theaters.
We asked if local movie goers feel safe going to catch a flick.
“There was dust flying everywhere”, said plumber Sean Oliver, who heard multiple shots and was able to see the back of the theater.
Late Wednesday, Metro Nashville police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Vincente David Montano of Nashville.
A gunman who opened fire at a movie theater in Antioch, Tennessee, has been killed, police said. The video doesn’t show the shooting. According to tax records, Pruett still owns the house, but neighbors said she lives in Florida. These heroes prevented what easily could have become a massacre inside the theater.
Our app users learned about this story first. “The safety of our guests and employees is, and always will be, our industry’s highest priority”.
There were reports of nearby schools also being placed on lock down but students were not there at the time as Metro had a half day Wednesday.
Those with the Ford Ice Center confirmed they were on lockdown as a result of the incident. They will resume normal operations Thursday.
A S.W.A.T. team then engaged the suspect and he was killed.
“Not much more than a bad bruise”, said Haas.
As he fled out the again, Montano encountered a SWAT staff and was shot lifeless, Aaron stated. At least one of those bags was detonated just before 4 p.m.
