Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson’s probation terminated by judge
Citing a source, ESPN.com’s Ben Goessling reported Peterson’s probation was terminated at an earlier date because he “fulfilled all his requirements”.
Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson’s probation has been terminated early, according to a report from KHOU, and the Montgomery County District Attorney is claiming it was done without the NFL player completing all of its terms.
Peterson says he never intended to harm his son and was disciplining him in the same way he had been as a child growing up in East Texas.
Peterson was serving a two-year probation sentence, which included 80 hours of community service and performing a public service announcement concerning child discipline.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has been in an ongoing battle with Case over different issues, most recently regarding the constitutionality of the state’s online solicitation of a minor law.
“The fact of the matter is the State didn’t have an opportunity to be heard, the State didn’t have an opportunity to object”, Ligon said. And now apparently they’re upset. But it’s over and done with.
Peterson, who has expressed remorse for the incident, rejoined the Vikings in June and last month restructured his contract to add some guaranteed money to the three years remaining on it. The Vikings open the preseason Sunday against Pittsburgh in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, but Peterson is not expected to play until the September 14 regular-season opener at San Francisco. “And it came down to getting back in the building, being around my teammates, being around the coaches”.
