Star Wars Battlefront “Fighter Squadron” gameplay trailer features air combat
EA then tweeted “We’ve got fighter incoming!”, with a teaser clip for the new Squadron Battle mode below.
We’ve known for some time that X-Wings and TIE Fighters would be controllable vehicles in Star Wars Battlefront, but now EA has revealed in a very short clip that one of the shooter’s modes will be entirely focused on aerial combat.
When confirmed, Fighting Squadron will join other game modes for “Battlefront”, including Supremacy, Walker Assault; Drop Zone, Cargo, and the co-op Survival mode.
By popular demand, it appears that dogfights will be a part of Star Wars: Battlefront, putting players in the cockpits of X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and even the Millennium Falcon. Perhaps we might see a tease for Visceral’s Star Wars game or more information on Mass Effect: Andromeda. The full reveal for the game mode will come on Wednesday, August 5 at Gamescom.
Den of Geek reportedly claimed that Blast Mode is essentially a 10 vs 10 death match as the objective is to have 100 kills for your team when the 10 minute round is over.
It is expected that the title will have major exposure at the upcoming Gamescom.
Star Wars Battlefront launches on November 17th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
