Hidden Video Shows Houston Planned Parenthood Clinic

Abortion opponents say the recordings caught Planned Parenthood illegally selling the organs for profit, while Planned Parenthood officials — while apologizing for their workers’ businesslike words — say they’ve abided by laws that let them recoup the procedures’ costs. Planned Parenthood of Northern New England does not engage in the voluntary tissue donation program, but the Republican councilors told Gov. Maggie Hassan the state should launch a state-based investigation.

Later in the same conversation she says: “we’re not looking to make money from this”.

“Really their bottom line is, they want to break even. Every penny they save is just pennies they give to another patient”.

The video, which is graphic, also raises questions as to whether Planned Parenthood doctors alter their abortion methods to harvest tissue from aborted fetuses. Joe Donnelly, a pro-life Democrat, to vote in the Senate to defund Planned Parenthood.

The videos resulted in backlash among lawmakers who argued that the abortion provider should be defunded. Earlier tapes launched by this extremist group have been closely edited so as to distort what the individuals on the tapes truly stated. “These videos are intended to shock and deceive the public”.

Brian Chavez-Ochoa, a lawyer for Center for Medical Progress, said his clients have footage that has nothing to do with the plaintiff in the case, the National Abortion Federation, and is not covered by the judge’s injunction. The unedited version will be linked when it is available.

A Los Angeles judge last week issued a separate temporary restraining order blocking the center from releasing any video of leaders of StemExpress, a California company that provides fetal tissue to researchers. And because there simply isn’t a network of health care providers capable of taking over this job if Planned Parenthood were denied funding, this would mean hundreds of thousands of women, if not millions, would over time lose access to birth control. Most of us would freak out if we listened to professionals in the local hospital, funeral home or medical examiner’s office discuss details of how a dying person’s request to have their body parts donated for transplants or scientific research actually gets carried out.

Republicans on Capitol Hill are now seeking to tie federal funding for Planned Parenthood to a government spending bill that is up for a vote this fall after Monday’s failed effort in the Senate to bar all federal funds for the group. In a Texas Senate hearing on July 29, former Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast clinic director Abby Johnson estimated that the affiliate had previously made up to $120,000 per month off of aborted fetal tissue.

But the controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood has turned into a rallying cry for many 2016 Republican presidential candidates who have called for Congress to pull federal funding for the organization.
