Children participate in Abington Community Library summer reading program
Police Chief James Waters reads a story to Summer Reading Club members at the Lois Nelson Public Library.
Lights, camera, action! Darien Library will celebrate the efforts of all kid readers during its Summer Reading Finale Party on Monday, August 17 from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Library courtyard. “I liked completing the activity sheet and going to the events, especially ‘Eating Like a Superhero, ‘” Allison, of South Abington Township, said.
Reading points were earned and prizes were collected in the Rock Star Room.
The program was designed to keep kids reading and to raise awareness of what the library offers the community.
The Reading Adventure is a free program open to all children. This day trip could well evolve into two days or more.
Although the theme was “heroes”, children, teens and adults could read whatever they wanted. They will recieve a Summer Reading Card to record their progress along the way and a library reward stamp will be added to their reading card at the library after each book read.
