Apple Enjoys UK Smartphone Growth As Brits Rekindle Love For iPhone
Android enjoys 75.1 percent market share in the region, and while this is down from 81.4 percent, the green robot bests its next nearest competitor, iOS on 13.2 percent, by some margin. It is expected that Apple will unveil the new iPhone 6S on September 8. Android offered complexity while iOS offered simplicity but as time goes by, technology changes. iOS becomes complex while Android becomes simple and more user- friendly.
According to the latest report from Kantar Worldpanel, Samsung and LG have led Android smartphone sales in the US during the second quarter of 2015 while also managing to slightly chip away at iPhone sales compared to the previous quarter.
But it also lost ground in the U.S., where iOS market share dipped to 30.5 percent from 32.8 percent for the same period a year ago.
The results were in stark contrast to the U.S., where Kantar found that Android enjoyed stronger gains in Q2. South Korean giants LG and Samsung both have been good players with their shares going up.
Interestingly, one interviewee did claim he will always be a Samsung fanboy.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may be hit with concerns such as the recent slowdown in iPhone’s sales growth, and market saturation.
Looking back at the aforementioned recent performance in Germany, Kantar warns that Android’s accessibility to new smartphone brands makes for an even harder time turning a profit. “The size of the screen was the main purchase driver for Android buyers across all of Europe’s big five countries”. Android’s continuous growth is mainly due to the numerous mobile devices running the platform and new models being introduced left and right. In that case, former iPhone user Adam Backhaut, like Moore, says Apple’s iMessage system prevented text messages sent from iPhones from being delivered to Android phones if the phone number had previously been used for an iPhone.
By comparison, Apple had a slightly less successful second quarter in its home market.
