Michigan to open Battle 4 Atlantis tournament against Connecticut
Three days ago, Michigan basketball released its non-conference schedule for the 2015-16 season.
The two in-state rivals will meet in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas on November. 25, the day before Thanksgiving, it was announced Thursday.
We now know the answer.
The Wolverines open the regular season November 13 against Northern Michigan.
Michigan beat Texas in the second round of the 2014 NCAA tournament. The last time the Wolverines opposed the Huskies was on January 17, 2010, when Michigan won, 68-63, in Ann Arbor. The other three contests include Gonzaga vs. Washington, Texas vs. Texas A&M, and Syracuse vs. Charlotte.
On the other side of the bracket, UConn draws Michigan in the first round while Syracuse squares off with Charlotte. The games are played at the Atlantis Resort in a converted ballroom on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
