IOS 8.4.1 Release Date, Improvements and Bug Fixes

The watchOS 2 update allows developers to build native apps that do not rely as much on the iPhone for processing power, third-party complications or widgets for the watch face, and closer access to hardware like heart rate sensor data and more. Many older wallpapers have been removed, so people running iOS 8.4 should save their favorites now before they’re deleted with the launch of iOS 9.

Also accompanying the fifth beta of iOS 9 is watchOS 2 beta for the Apple Watch, it also features more or less the same incremental improvements as the latest iOS beta build.

For example, if you’re using an iPhone 5 with just a 32-bit A6 chip, the app won’t install information needed for 64-bit iPhones. After installing iOS 9 and launching Calendar, the app lists what’s new from iOS 8. For example, if your current location was around a Dunkin’ Donuts and you didn’t have the app, previously your lock screen might suggest you download it – but no longer.

In beta 5, the most interesting changes may well be broad carrier WiFi Calling support and WiFi Assist, however. It’ll play all songs in a music library on shuffle mode.

Unlike T-Mobile, which has offered Wi-Fi Calling for some time, AT&T isn’t likely in a position where it needs to use unlicensed spectrum to free up cellular network capacity, although it may help do so.
