Rematch: Cavs and Warriors tentatively scheduled for Christmas Day
“The Heat are mainstays on the NBA’s Christmas schedule”. With a ton of casual fans tuning in, they want to create a slate of exciting matches to highlight their top athletes. It is unclear which other contests will take place, but Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald recently reported that the Miami Heat are expected to host the New Orleans Pelicans.
The source called that matchup likely but stopped short of saying definite because the National Basketball Association reserves the right to change anything before the schedule is announced. The Warriors have played the Clippers on three of the last four Christmas nights, and the way that rivalry has developed, it should have been no surprise.
It would be the sixth consecutive year the Heat will play on Christmas, after playing on December. 25 only five times in the franchise’s first 20 seasons, and the second consecutive year they have been so featured in the wake of the 2014 free-agent departure of forward LeBron James back to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Assuming both teams will be at full health, it will be a treat to see the Warriors try to beat a Cavaliers squad with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. However, until then, expect a few of the more important matchups to leak, including the Christmas Day schedule, which already has begun to.
