Benzema could bring Premier League title to Arsenal – Henry
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a big-money move for the Real Madrid forward in recent days as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at Emirates Stadium.
Wenger suggested he was in no rush to add another top quality striker to his ranks, but the arrival of Benzema would have the Gunners faithful believing a push for the Premier League title is on the cards.
Asked if Benzema would help Arsenal win the league, Henry replied: “Yes”.
Arsenal last season showed they could cope without Olivier Giroud for a long stretch, and even flourished at times withut Alexis Sanchez, their 5-0 league win over Aston Villa one such instance.
“I always say it’s their [Arsenal’s] year but there is a genuine buzz around the place right now”, Henry told talkSport.
Benzema is the subject of heavy speculation linking him with an exit from Real Madrid, with The Guardian claiming the Gunners are planning a late bid.
“I think if you get Benzema, not only will you challenge for the league, but you also challenge for the Champions League”.
Gnabry joined Arsenal from Stuttgart in 2011 and has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Sunday’s opener against the Hammers promises to serve as the first real test as to whether Arsenal are capable of a title charge this season following a Community Shield win over reigning champions Chelsea.
