Nick Saban ‘opposed’ to unauthorized biography, won’t let it distract Tide
This time it appears to be down to last year’s backup, Jake Coker, and redshirt freshman David Cornwell.
Asked Thursday about how hungry the Crimson Tide is, the senior center replied: “The hungriest”. “But then after we lost to Ohio State it was like all the season was for nothing”. “They obviously don’t have the experience some of our players have had in the past, so it will be an interesting challenge to get those guys to develop the confidence and the attention to detail that’s necessary to develop the chemistry in the passing game”. Potter states that Scarbrough was limited at Thursday’s practice, while wearing a black, no-contact jersey.
“The issue with (split-squad practices) in the past has been it really wears out the players because you only have 50 players out there at a time and you don’t have enough guys to actually share the reps”, Saban said.
That philosophy clearly doesn’t include a biography released this month about him written by Forbes writer Monte Burke, “Saban: The Making of a Coach”.
“This charity is very special to me because it’s the one way that my father – who probably had the greatest impact of anybody on me – his legacy is sort of remembered because Nick’s Kids is all about my dad”, said Saban.
“One of these days when I’m finished coaching at Alabama, I’ll write an authorized book”, Saban said at Thursday’s news conference. And I’m not really ready for that to happen and it’s a little awesome to me that the timing of all this happening right when we’re starting camp. And there won’t be any misinformation. There won’t be any hearsay. There won’t be any expert analysis from somebody else. “It’ll be the real deal”. “But when we decide to write an authorized book, it will have the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth”, Saban said.
