Arsenal injury news: Alexis Sanchez back in 10 days, confirms Arsene Wenger
This is the news all Arsenal fans have been waiting for.
“With all the camera angles it will be easier to punish players diving”. You had that in England before but no player gets that anymore at the top level.
“It’s bad luck, purely accidental”.
There was major news on Thursday morning, as it was confirmed that Jack Wilshere has suffered a hairline fracture to his right ankle following a heavy challenge from Gabriel Paulista in training, and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks. The news we got yesterday was that it could be much shorter than expected because he’s two weeks in a boot and then maybe after that he can practice straight away again.
“He was down but we will help him cope with it. It’s mentally hard”. I will see. Sunday will certainly come too early but in 10 days he should be alright.
The Chilean global was given an extended break by the Gunners boss following his exertions with his country at the Copa America earlier in the summer.
Wenger has admitted his shock at the severity of the injury, but insists that the midfielder will overcome the setback and return with confidence.
The South American will not play at the Emirates this weekend but is expected to return in 10 days.
“The difficulty is to find holidays for your players”.
Arsenal have made only one signing over the summer – the £10m purchase of goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea – and Wenger played down suggestions that the club is working on a deal for Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.
