A Louisiana police officer was shot and killed late Wednesday evening in Shreveport while answering an emergency call, Reuters reported.
Cannon was also wanted in association with a shooting that had happened last month. Hines says an armed man was apparently inside the home, threatening to harm people.
“He is nothing to me but a coward who would shoot an officer and hide and run”, Shaw said.
Police already had a warrant for Cannon’s arrest on a charge of attempted second-degree murder; they now have one out for him for first-degree murder, which carries a possible death penalty upon conviction.

Police had not named their lost officer by 12:30 a.m., nor was the shooter captured. “Our hearts are saddened”, Mayor Ollie Tyler.
