George Clooney To Be First Guest on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show
Since undergoing renovations for Stephen Colbert, the incoming “Late Show” host the iconic marquee has been under wraps.
That said, it’ll be the first time Clooney will have guested on a Colbert-hosted show – he never appeared on “The Colbert Report“! “Could one you let him know?” tweeted Colbert. What issue? Oh nothing much, other than Stephen’s frustration at not being invited to George’s private Italian villa to go skinny dipping with newsmen Charlie Rose and David Gergen.
Colbert’s launch continues a period of transition for CBS’ late-night programming.
The former Daily Show correspondent sat across the table from his old boss and delivered an elongated tribute that was equal parts eloquent and hilarious. Colbert asked his 8.57 million followers.
Oscar-winning Hollywood star and filmmaker George Clooney, seen at the 2015 Oscars in January, is Colbert’s first guest.
