Dr. Dre donates album royalties
As of today (Friday 7 August) the album was made available for purchase on iTunes.
The six times Grammy award victor also revealed that the new album was inspired by the N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton”.
Premier hoped for the best and the two stayed in touch, but it became clear that Dr. Dre was so busy working on the N.W.A. movie it would be a while before anything firm crystallized. But that’s no diminishment; the most devastatingly ferocious flowmaster alive steps up his game like he’s on Dr. Dre’s swan song…. wait. But he has kept himself busy in mentoring other rappers. Three tracks feature Kendrick Lamar, Dre’s natural heir from Compton.
In “Genocide“, Dre creates a beat that’s, by turns, dreamy and driving. He is worth at least $700m after selling Beats to Apple for $3bn in 2014.
Apart from Lamar and Eminem’s voice the Compton features the voices of Ice Cube, King Mez and Anderson Paak.
In more positive news, the Aftermath Entertainment founder will donate artist royalties from Compton to the construction of a community center for kids in his hometown. He wants to build that art and entertainment facility.
Dre announced the donation Thursday morning on Apple Music’s “Beats 1” radio show with Zane Lowe. He stated that he feels this is the right act.
“The album he’s working on is not called Detox“, Parker said.
He added: “We’ve reached out to Aja Brown quite a few times in the last month or two”.
“I had to come up with something different but still keep it hardcore, so what I decided to do was make my album one story about one person and just do the record through a character’s eyes”. Meanwhile, an AC/DC-style guitar riff ziz-zags behind him, capping off one of Dre’s rockier productions on the album. And he instantly liked the idea, according to RollingStone.
“I don’t think I did a good enough job, and I couldn’t do that to my fans, and I couldn’t do that to myself”.
The surprise news has left fans excited and the Internet buzzing with questions concerning the sound of the album, and what could possibly next for the rap veteran.
