FX Renews ‘The Strain’ For Third Season
The second season now airs on FX on Sundays at 10 p.m.
When The Strain premiered in the summer of 2014 it was considered to be a breakout hit for FX.
In the current second season, the transformation has begun. Even with this ratings drop though, the network has said that the show is still receiving solid gains because of DVR views, plus they are still showing strong ratings in their core demographic of adults between the ages of 18 and 49.
The cast and crew of FX vampire show “The Strain” – Carlton Cuse, Guillermo del Toro, Chuck Hogan, Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand and Mia Maestro – gathered onstage to address the Television Critics Assn.’s many questions. And author, producer and director Del Toro used “The Simpson’s” to squash urgent considerations concerning the odd response fictional New York has needed to its vampire outbreak.
“Guillermo [del Toro] and Carlton [Cuse] have delivered two thrilling seasons of The Strain that are captivating and visually arresting, doing justice to the original novel trilogy and meeting fans’ high expectations in the process”, Schrier said in a statement.
In addition to del Toro, Chuck Hogan was also responsible for writing the original three novels.
Two members of the TCA viewers pressed the present creators and forged concerning the timing and response fee in New York. Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and his unlikely allies tried to take down the embodiment of this evil – the Master – and failed. Now Dr. Nora Martinez along with Goodweather are attempting to create a biological weapon with the goal of wiping out the evil creatures.
Based on how great Season 2 of “The Strain” is so far, this news makes us extremely happy… Still, the network must see something in The Strain if they keep renewing it. And it’s not as though the series has no audience at all.
