Encounter on in J and K’s Pulwama, one militant killed
“The militants hiding in the area fired on the search party triggering an encounter in which one militant was killed”.
A Lashkar-e-Tayyaba district commander was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s southern Pulwama district on Thursday.
In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two youth in Pulwama district, today.
Police said the slain militant was affiliated with Lashker-i-Toiba militant outfit. “By the time they reached spot, the policemen at the outpost engaged the terrorists in a gun-battle”, said the police official adding that the number of terrorists in the latest encounter is stated to be two or may be three.
“Shah was involved in firing incident at Pampore in which seven BSF personnel got injured”. The encounter was on when the last reports came in.
The official said that all efforts are on to either capture the associate of Talib alive or neutralize him.
The two militants managed to escape from the area, taking advantage of the darkness, following which the search operation was called off on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, as the news about the death of Talib spread in the town, hundreds of people from adjoining areas of Kakapora including Patalbagh, Lelhar, Naman, Aloochibagh, Samboora, Hathwara and other areas rushed towards the spot of incident. In the ensuing clashes, a protester identified as Lateef Ahmad of Qazigund Pulwama, was injured after a teargas shell hit his abdomen.
