Jets’ Dee Milliner to miss 6-8 weeks after wrist surgery
Jets cornerback Dee Milliner needs surgery after injuring his right wrist during training camp, the team announced Friday.
Milliner was scheduled to have surgery Friday. This latest injury was another blow in what has been a disappointing career for the 23-year-old Milliner. He missed most of last season after tearing an Achilles tendon. He missed time at OTAs because of a hamstring issue, sprained his ankle in training camp and had problems with his quadriceps.
Through two seasons, Milliner, the Jets’ top draft pick in 2013, has played just 16 games because of injuries. He tore his right Achilles tendon October. 12 against the Broncos last season after playing in just three games. He had five surgeries before the Jets even considered taking him with the ninth overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. He did stay relatively healthy that season, though, and played in 13 games, pulling down three interceptions.
The New York Jets made a big push this past offseason to strengthen the team’s secondary, spending some big bucks to bring back cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie.
