Awww! Meet Doodlebug, the Orphaned Baby Kangaroo That Needs a Hug
Beshara told HuffPost that his mother, Gillian Abbot, a licensed wildlife carer and member of rescue organization WIRES, was the one who took the photo and has been caring for the kangaroo.
This hug between an orphaned kangaroo and his teddy bear is taking over the internet.
Doodlebug was in poor health when first taken in, but has since recovered and is roaming again.
According to the Daily Mail, Beshara’s mother Gillian found Doodlebug after he was abandoned as a newborn. The Week reports that pictures of Doodlebug started to spread after the son of Abbott, Tim Beshara, posted snaps of him on Twitter. The picture itself is very cute, while the caption does have some misinformation since Doodlebug is a young eastern grey kangaroo and not a wallaby.
“He lies next to it, practices his kicking against it and cuddles it”, Beshara said.
Tim commented: ‘They seem to respond to the toys much in the same way as a toddler. The joey is seen to be in good health with no signs of distress or discomfort.
BRB, sending Doodlebug a care package comprised of, yes, an entire family of teddies on strings.
