California City’s Police Kill Man They Say Stabbed 6 People
Multiple persons were stabbed in North Long Beach on Friday night, authorities said, by a man who was later fatally shot by police at the scene.
Police shot and killed a man following a stabbing attack that left several people wounded in Long Beach on Friday, August 7, 2015.
Officers were called about a stabbing in progress at 8:17 p.m in the 3200 block of East Artesia Boulevard.
Police said officers encountered the suspect and an officer-involved shooting occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name and other details haven’t been released.
Three stabbing victims were transported to local area trauma centers, according to Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Brian Fisk.
The conditions of the victims ranged from superficial to critical, according to Zabel.
KNBC-TV reports that relatives of the suspected attacker arrived at the scene after learning he had been killed.
