Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Kane under investigation, New York police confirm
Patrick Kane has gotten in trouble for his behavior on the past. As of now there are no rumors indicating how the Chicago Blackhawks plan to treat Patrick Kane, but if he is bound to remain in Buffalo during the investigation it could force the team to keep him off the active roster.
Kane, a three-time Stanley Cup victor, signed an eight-year, $84-million contract last summer that goes into effect during the 2015-16 season. If you do something wrong it’s going to be all over the place. Now, the win seems to be long-forgotten as a young woman had just accused Kane of rape.
And sources close to Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz told NBC Chicago that team ownership feels “anger, disappointment, sadness and hope”.
Kane has not been charged, and has not commented publicly on the allegation.
Most of the almost two dozen people The News interviewed in South Buffalo and West Seneca on Friday said their feelings had little to do with his global star-status as a hockey player.
The National Hockey League added it is “aware of a police investigation” and “following developments”.
“At this time, we are gathering information and awaiting forensic testing results”, Wickett said. The club said it would be “inappropriate” to comment further.
Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett read a statement in front of reporters but refused to answer any questions.
That included Kane’s defense lawyer Paul J. Cambria Jr. who simple replied: “I have nothing to say”.
This is not Kane ‘s first brush with the law.
An investigation is underway involving Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane and a possible rape case, according to The Buffalo News.
This is not Kane’s first run-in with the law, In 2009, he was arrested for punching a cab driver, and charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services.
In May 2012, photographs surfaced of Kane during a drunken party in Madison, Wisconsin.
No charges have been filed in connection with the investigation, and Hamburg police would neither confirm nor deny the alleged incident or any involvement from the 2013 Conn Smythe Trophy victor. He was not arrested.
“Everyone has a different path, that’s for sure”. “He’s an icon. I’d rather have him on the window than somebody else”. The Blackhawks won their third Stanley Cup in six years this past season.
But now, fans don’t know if they’ll catch a glimpse of the Cup or of Kane this time.
