Patrick Kane’s agent releases statement, police confirm rape investigation
Police in upstate New York confirmed on Friday that they are investigating an alleged sexual assault incident that occurred at the home of Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane.
Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane is the subject of an assault examination by police in the Wild ox suburb of Hamburg, as indicated by The Bison News. The newspaper reports that two sources said Hamburg police officers and detectives are banned from talking publicly about the case.
Kane was born and raised in Buffalo and spends his off-seasons nearby.
Ganis isn’t seeing any damage to the team, adding it is isolated to Kane.
“We are aware of a police investigation and are following developments”, said Frank Brown, the league’s group vice president of communications.
Patrick Kane, right, hoisted the Stanley Cup with teammate Jonathan Toews.
Stan Bowman, general manager at the time, called those reported acts from Kane “disappointing” and said they “handled it internally”. Even the former defense lawyer of Kane, Paul J. Cambria Jr. when asked about the said allegation declined to say anything.
Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane, 26, has not been charged with any crime, but Friday morning the Hamburg, NY, police chief confirmed he’s the focus of a rape investigation.
When he had the Cup at home the last time, in 2013, Kane shared the day with the West Seneca Youth Hockey Association, the program in suburban Buffalo with which he had played five years beginning at age 7. The Chicago Tribune cites unnamed neighbors of Kane in Lake Erie that they saw plainclothes cops enter the athlete’s home and take photos. Though criminal charges against him were dropped, a judge ordered him to send an apology to the driver, who accused Kane and his cousin of assault and stealing a fare.
Details of the incident under investigation weren’t immediately available, but no charges have been filed.
Kane’s agent, Pat Brisson, issued a statement that first referred to the Blackhawks release, noting the team is gathering information and reviewing reports.
Chief Wickett did not answer any questions during his short appearance outside the Town of Hamburg Police headquarters today.
“How to work harder in the summer or take better care of yourself as far as eating and different things like that”, Kane said, via the Associated Press.
