Golden State Warriors scheduled to meet New Orleans Pelicans in week one
It would be the sixth consecutive year the Heat will play on Christmas, after playing on December 25 only five times in the franchise’s first 20 seasons, and the second consecutive year they have been so featured in the wake of the 2014 free-agent departure of forward LeBron James back to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The NBA’s 2015-16 schedule is circulating around the league and should be finalized and made public before the end of this month, as early as next week.
We won’t know the Cavaliers full schedule until later next week but we do know some of the games that are tentatively scheduled.
While another Warriors-Clippers Christmas game would have been intriguing, the Cavaliers coming to Oracle is just as good.
According to Marc Stein from ESPN.com, the Warriors and Cavaliers are going to meet up in an National Basketball Association Finals rematch on Christmas Day. Last season, big market teams such as New York and Chicago were a part of the Christmas Day slate. This season they are up against the challenge of the reigning Eastern Conference Champions. Golden State’s victory came despite a historic effort from Cavaliers forward LeBron James, who led all players from both teams in scoring, rebounds and assists.
It should make for an epic Christmas Day contest. It would be nice to see the Warriors get a home game for the fans to take in the experience.
