Manchester United transfer news: Van Gaal refuses to discuss Di Maria’s PSG
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal addresses the growing rumours of Angel Di Maria nearing a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has expressed his happiness at seeing youngster Sean Goss get some important playing time for the first team.
Following the game, PSG manager Laurent Blanc seemed quite hopeful that negotiations were reaching the latter stages and an agreement would soon be struck. I don’t know… This is a process and we won’t say anything until the end.
Still unable to locate their star Argentine player who they just last year paid a record 60 million to Real Madrid for, Manchester United has stuck a deal with PSG for his rights.
Furthermore, at United he wasn’t given the chance to be very creative, as Van Gaal required a lot more discipline from the player than Carlo Ancelotti.
Di Maria was all set for a move to Parc Des Princes last summer, before FFP intervened and stopped the transfer from happening.
When pressed by reporters for Di Maria’s whereabouts Van gaal said, “Maybe you know where he is”. We may also close comments on articles which are being targeted for abuse.
“It’s better when you win but I was rather satisfied”, he said. Van Gaal refused to elaborate, saying only that he didn’t actually know where Di Maria is.
Further, Van Gaal has been hinting about a transfer for De Gea, claiming the situation is not ideal and the player wants to leave. I’d rather see him have to knuckle down and earn his place in a three man attack of Rooney, Depay and him which could be superior to Rooney Tevez and Ronaldo since there are no pegs in wrong holes.
When pressed on which formation he will adopt against Tottenham in next week’s Premier League opener, Van Gaal replied: “More or less 4-3-3”.
“I think I shall use him there, but also in midfield and the left-back position, but I’m pleased with his performances”. The French Ligue 1 is not as competitive as the Premier League and PSG is the club that has dominated in the last couple of years.
