Millions hit by Carphone Warehouse cyber-attack
Its investigation found that the names, addresses and bank details of up to 2.4 million customers may have been exposed, along with the encrypted credit card data of up to 90,000 customers.

UK-based Carphone Warehouse is the latest to admit to a security violation.
Are you a Carphone Warehouse customer?
“Currys and PCWorld and the vast majority of Carphone Warehouse customer data is held on separate systems and has not been accessed during this incident”, the retailer said in a statement. He tweeted: “This is the #Infosec department at #carphonewarehouse – sorry we can’t take your call right now – all of our agents are busy just now…”
And if you do get a call from someone asking for your bank details or any other personal information, claiming that they’re from Carphone Warehouse or any other organisation, NEVER give out this info.
The company is investigating how the information was accessed.
“There will always be more cyber criminals looking to exploit the situation and trick you into sharing information a legitimate company would never ask for”.
