Mourinho makes veiled criticism
The central defender has been subject of two bids from Chelsea – both of which has been swiftly rejected by Everton – but that has led to comments from John Terry regarding Stones’ future, as per the Telegraph.
“My feeling is just one and I’m not speaking about Everton or Stones”, the managed said.
Stones, who made 23 Premier League appearances last season, still has four years to run on his current Everton deal.
“If I could, I would speak with you (the media) once in a month”.
And despite continuing his search for John Terry’s long-term successor at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho said he considers his business in the transfer market done for the summer.
Garry Monk feels Swansea are in good shape to build on last season’s best Premier League finish and record points total.
Everton’s boss has reacted angrily to Terry’s comments, slamming the former England captain for making “illegal” comments about a player who is tied to another club.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez wants to sign three more players this summer as a River Plate youngster prepares to join the club on loan.
Martinez continued: “We have a fantastic relationship between the two clubs”.
“We brought Falcao because we know that we need three, we need protection to this situation”.
“They deserve our confidence, but I think now is our time to deserve a compensation of that and for the players to give us everything they have and to keep the level of ambition and motivation”.
42-year-old Martinez has revealed that the transfer rumours have affected his star player [The Guardian], which may indicate that Stones himself is agitating to secure a move away from Merseyside.
Mourinho using Traore at left back?
“I’ve loved every minute I’ve been here, with the fans having made me feel so welcome from day one, as well as the players and staff”.
“He is not for sale, we have said that many times, he is not for sale”.
“But a player can make a decision when the clubs say he can make a decision”.
“We have more than a week to work”.
